Before reading more about the ARC we include a small extract from a Google Search which shows that Free Spirit of Itchenor is already famous (extract by courtesy of http://www.gran-canaria-info.com/wiki/tiki-read_article.php?articleId=144) :

" -----.Twenty-one nations are represented in the 2005 ARC fleet, making this not only the largest transoceanic event in the world, but also the most diverse. The fleet ranges from the Vancouver 32 Free Spirit of Itchenor from Great Britain, to the largest boat at 104 feet, Kalikobass II from the Cayman Islands.-----"

Summary

The ARC is an annual "rally" across the North Atlantic from Cran Canaria to St Lucia in the Carribean for sailing yachts used by ordinary people as cruisers rather than professional racers. Departure from Las Palmas in November with arrival in St Lucia in early to mid December depending on your size and abilities and desires.

We are entered in the ARC2005 and we expect to leave with the rest of the fleet on November 20th 2005 from Las Palmas.

If and when that happens the ARC site will be reporting our position on a daily basis together with forecasts of the weather for the relevant areas of the North Atlantic. The locations of these reports is shown above.
